MAINx24 is right around the corner and at least for me, that means one thing. Drinking in the middle of the street. Seriously though, MAINx24 has become a staple for Chattanooga and the Southside neighborhood. This year will mark the 10th anniversary of the festival that started it all. The festival has regularly been held on the first Saturday of December since 2007, and is one of the highlights of the year for all Chattanooga residents.

It's a day that may not necessarily be designed for the morning people of our fine city, but it most assuredly is designed for the night owls.  MAINx24 kicks off early with a breakfast and a parade and moves on into the afternoon, evening, and long hours of the night.

I'm on board for nearly any event that allows me to drink a beer openly in the street, but MAINx24 is something more, something special. The 24 hour festival is organized by the artists and community of Chattanooga's beautiful Southside.  By nature, the festival, is a bit in flux, and I have been known to reference it to a smaller, more urban Burning Man. People will find art installations, food trucks, live music, vendors, and more at this years festival, and a full event schedule should be going up in the next week or so.

Despite my best attempts I have never seemed to leave the festival before the wee hours of Sunday morning, only to wake later in the day with an unrelenting hangover. But the juice is definitely worth the squeeze. MAINx24 unabashedly burns the midnight oil, and you'd best be prepared.

This year should be no different, and to add to the shenanigans of silent discos, live music, delicious food, and art... Brew Chatt will be down there doing a live podcast. So be sure to find us and come say hi. We'll probably even let you swear at us on air if you want to. After the podcast we'll be roaming around and getting into shenanigans just as much as you. Be sure to come have a beer with us!

Can't wait to see you guys at MAINx24 2016 on December 3rd.
